Web Intensity of Erosion and Outflow

River Basins

River basins are the natural unit of area of water resources. With intensifying land use changes, climate change and water use we are turned more and more to applying various measures of sustainable water management; integrated watershed management; with applying computer-graphical methods; with establishing new databases, in this specific case on the river basin scale. That is being more and more research and technical challenging initiative. Contribution of our WIntErO team to the resolutions of this global environmental problem from the area of Soil Conservation here specifically is modeling of Soil erosion processes. We established an open database of River basins with set of about 50 physical-geographical inputs of each river basin; with the inputs and the outputs that are defining the processes in the river basin in relation to the Soil erosion and outflow (based on the Gavrilovic method, 1972 and the IntErO model of Spalevic, 2011). From the table set in this section you may find subject details listed by Country where we already applied calculations using the WIntERO model. The list of the countries and presented river basins from the table will grow, depending on the interest of the researchers all over the world to use this model.

It has been established with the idea of receiving, catalyzing and providing positive effects of research, at the same time respecting cultural differences in international research, with open access to all its empirical findings for all the interested parties.

Please note that the calculations listed in the table are presented as research results of various researchers. But any interested party may use the existing data with applying the scenarios depending on the impact of land use changes and climate changes. With this approach you will get new results, you may project new scenarios. Only condition is to make those data available free for the others on this platform.

And to conclude with the universal message of our research team: Research, books and academic papers make the science. Science makes the difference.
